I did the same thing as the author here did. Whew. I have to say it is nice not having the telecoms monthly bill to furrow my brows into.

Best of all, the iPod touch rocks and I’ve noticed many Dr.s using them in their offices and hospitals. Quick reference is always nice.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your wonderful info about Tracfone email! I can’t tell you how long I spent researching this stuff, and of course, the Tracfone website has absolutely ZERO on this subject. I ended up at your info page when I googled mmt5 or something like that. (I apologize, but I tried to copy the text to a Word document so I could save if for future reference and I got these warnings about copyright and IP being recorded. Please know that my intentions were not “evil” as to your work. I have it in Favorites now).

Anyway, being from the “older generation”, I really appreciate people like you putting out all this helpful stuff for people like me who love the technology but sometimes don’t quite “get it”. By the way, I also enjoyed viewing the type of work you do.

And I’ve gone one better- sold my Verizon iPhone 4, bought a triple minutes Tracfone, kept my old iPhone 3gs but disconnected service and now use it as an iPod touch. So I’m saving tons of money…feeling pretty proud of myself right now!

Another way to transfer contacts from one Tracfone to another is to bring both phones down to your local Verizon store. For $10 they will do the transfer. You don’t have to be a Verizon customer. I just had them transfer contacts from my Motorola W370 to my new Samsung T301G.

Thank you SO much! I may have to use a tracfone to post short updates to WordPress on an upcoming trip, and no one else seemed to have the correct information on how to set the “Subject:” for the email.

An observation on my T301G TracFone is that I can simply enter the email address as the recipient, or send to a contact that only has an email address. However, the characters for the email address still count against the 160-character limit. Also, if I send such a text with no subject, it will arrive as “Subject: no subject” and additional characters will be subtracted, as if the words “no subject” were inserted into the text. So to get maximum message length, it would be better to enter a one-character subject, than none.
